Ombre Brows
Ombre brows, also known as powder brows, are a type of semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo that provides a soft, shaded look to the eyebrows, similar to the effect of wearing makeup. Unlike traditional tattooed eyebrows, ombre brows use a shading technique that creates a gradient effect, with lighter color at the front of the brow and gradually darkening towards the tail. This method gives the brows a soft, powdered appearance, as if they were filled in with brow powder, creating a natural but more defined look.
Cosmetic tattooing has evolved significantly over the past four years. What was once seen as an outdated and overly bold procedure has now become a refined and accessible solution for the everyday woman. The term 'machine' in this context simply refers to the specialized tool used to apply the powder technique, particularly through the tails of the brows. I use a variety of needle sizes to ensure a perfect fit for each client's skin, resulting in a soft, powdered effect once healed. The machine I use is compact and relatively quiet, ensuring a gentle and comfortable experience for my clients.
The process involves implanting pigment into the upper layers of the skin using a machine technique that lightly deposits small, precise dots of pigment. This differs from microblading or nano brows, where individual hair-like strokes are created. The ombre effect allows for a fuller, more structured brow while still appearing natural, making it ideal for those who want their brows to look filled-in but not harsh. The shading can be customized from very soft and natural to a bolder, more makeup-like finish, depending on the client’s preference.
Ombre brows are popular for their versatility and suitability for a wide range of skin types, particularly for those with oily or sensitive skin where microblading might not be the best option. Because of the technique used, ombre brows tend to fade more evenly over time and require touch-ups approximately every 1-3 years to maintain their fresh appearance. The gentler method of pigment implantation means there’s less trauma to the skin, which results in a quicker healing process compared to other brow tattoo techniques.
The ombre brow technique is particularly beneficial for people who have sparse brow hair or gaps that they wish to fill in, as well as those who like a well-defined brow but still want a softer overall appearance. The results are smudge-proof and low maintenance, providing effortless brows that retain a naturally shaded look without the need for daily makeup application.
During the consultation, Emma will carefully map out the shape of the brows, taking into account your face structure, natural brow shape, and personal preferences, ensuring that the final result enhances your features in the most flattering way.

Nano Brows
Nano brows represent the latest advancement in cosmetic tattooing, offering an incredibly natural and precise brow enhancement. Over recent years, this technique has revolutionized brow tattooing by providing a subtle, hyper-realistic result that looks just like natural hair strokes. Unlike the older, more aggressive methods, nano brows use a very fine needle machine to delicately implant pigment, creating extremely fine lines that mimic real brow hairs. The goal is to achieve a realistic and soft brow that complements each client's features perfectly.
The term 'nano' refers to the fine needle used in the process, which is designed to create the most precise and detailed strokes possible. This approach allows for greater accuracy and less trauma to the skin compared to microblading,
making it suitable for a wider range of skin types, including oily and sensitive skin. I use a combination of different needle sizes to best suit your skin's needs, ensuring that the finished look is both flattering and long-lasting. Once healed, nano brows provide a natural, airy look, seamlessly blending with your existing brow hairs.
To ensure the best experience for my clients, I use a compact and relatively quiet machine, offering a gentler and more comfortable process. The result is a beautiful, natural brow that can last 1-2 years before needing a touch-up, depending on your skin type and lifestyle, requiring only minimal maintenance to keep them looking fresh. Nano brows are perfect for anyone looking to achieve fuller, symmetrical brows without the daily hassle of makeup, offering an effortless, polished look that enhances your natural beauty. It is not recommended for those of us with reasonable hair density naturally - it is simply a waste as your natural brow hair will cover the bulk of the work. If this is you, ombre brows may be better suited to you.

Microblading
Microblading is a popular cosmetic tattooing technique that has made its mark over the years for achieving natural-looking, defined eyebrows. This process involves using a handheld tool with ultra-fine blades to create individual hair-like strokes in the top layers of the skin, simulating real eyebrow hairs. The result is a fuller, more defined brow that enhances the natural shape and frame of your face. Microblading is ideal for those who have sparse brows, want to correct unevenness, or are simply looking to enhance their natural brow shape without needing daily makeup. It is not suited to those of us with a thin natural brow or no natural brow hair - it can look unnatural without the natural brow hair surrounding the tattoo.
However, microblading is not suitable for everyone. It is generally not recommended for individuals with oily skin or large pores, as the pigment tends to spread and blur over time, resulting in less crisp and defined strokes. Additionally, those with sensitive or thin skin, prone to keloids, or with certain health conditions such as diabetes may not be ideal candidates due to increased risk of complications or challenges with healing. For these clients, other techniques like nano brows or powder brows, which use more refined machine-based methods, can be a more effective alternative, providing longer-lasting and better-defined results.
At Chroma Aesthetics, we ensure that each client undergoes a thorough consultation to determine if microblading is the right fit. We want to achieve the most flattering, long-lasting results possible while ensuring the health and satisfaction of our clients. For those who do proceed with microblading, the treatment creates beautiful, realistic brows that need refreshing every one to two years, depending on skin type and lifestyle.

Combination Brows
Nano combination brows are a modern approach that combines the best features of both nano strokes and shading techniques, creating a fuller, more dimensional brow look. This method involves using a machine to create fine, hair-like strokes similar to those in nano brows, paired with soft shading throughout the tail of the brow for added definition and depth. The result is a perfect blend of natural hair strokes with the gentle, powdered effect that enhances the fullness and shape of the brows. Nano combination brows are great for those looking for a bit more boldness than nano brows alone, but still wanting the softness of natural-looking strokes through the front of the brows.
This technique is particularly effective for individuals who have uneven brow density or sparse areas, as the nano strokes help mimic natural hair while the shading adds volume and shape to create a more complete look. Unlike microblading, which uses manual blades, nano combination brows are done with a digital machine, which reduces skin trauma and allows for a more consistent and long-lasting result. The use of different needle sizes during the procedure allows for precise application, tailored to the client's unique skin type and desired outcome.
Nano combination brows are well-suited for most skin types, including those that may not be ideal candidates for microblading, such as oily skin. The machine technique tends to be more effective on oily or thicker skin types, as it allows for a finer deposit of pigment without blurring over time. This method also results in a more comfortable experience and quicker healing compared to manual techniques. If you’re looking for natural-looking brows that are both defined and voluminous, nano combination brows offer an excellent solution, combining the artistry of hair strokes with the enhanced fullness of shading.

Nano Stroke & Shade
Nano stroke and shade brows are a versatile cosmetic tattoo technique that blends the precision of hair-like strokes with a soft shading effect to achieve natural yet full-looking brows. This method uses a digital machine to create extremely fine strokes that mimic the appearance of real brow hairs, combined with shading to add definition and depth to areas where more fullness is desired. The result is a balanced look that features both individual hair-like detail and a soft, powdered effect, providing a natural yet enhanced version of your brows.
The process involves using different needle sizes and techniques to apply both nano strokes and shading, tailored to the client's skin type and desired brow shape. The nano strokes are added to create realistic hair-like lines, especially at the front and along the top of the brow, while the shading fills in any gaps and adds fullness. This combination gives a subtle, airbrushed finish that suits clients who want their brows to look naturally defined without appearing overly bold or "drawn on."
Nano stroke and shade brows are suitable for a wide variety of skin types, including those for whom microblading may not be ideal—such as oily or mature skin. The digital machine method used in this technique is gentler on the skin than manual microblading, making it suitable even for those with sensitive skin. Additionally, because the shading and strokes are created with a machine, the results tend to be more precise and fade more evenly over time. This method provides a long-lasting solution that typically requires touch-ups every one to three years, ensuring your brows remain beautifully defined and natural-looking with minimal effort.
If you’re looking for a way to enhance the fullness of your brows while retaining a natural, feathered look, nano stroke and shade brows provide an ideal balance of structure and softness, giving you the best of both worlds.
